Solid-State Photonic Quantum Devices for Quantum Technologies - canceled

Session Infomation

Solid-state photonic quantum devices are key resources in quantum information science, and they offer great advantages for practically implementation of quantum technologies. These include high flexibility in integration with microcavities thereby the spontaneous emission rate, coherence as well as the photon collection efficiency can be tailored in a well-controlled manner. In addition, solid-state photonic quantum devices lend themselves to on-chip integration, allowing for scalability to a large number of coupled qubits, and thus are noteworthy candidates for the most envisioned quantum proposals such as network-based quantum computing, cluster state generation, and quantum communications, and among others. The prospect for large scale integrability has stimulated an increasing interest in developing advanced solid-state photonic quantum devices. This session focuses on the area of solid-state photonic quantum devices with the aim of introducing the most exciting scientific progresses or questions currently being investigated in the field. Example topics include but not limited to light-matter interaction within two-level solid-state quantum materials, single and entangled photon sources based on low-dimensional semiconductors, spin-related quantum physics in wide-band semiconductors like diamond, silicon carbide and hBN etc. Photonic quantum applications related to solid-state quantum material or devices are strongly welcome.
