Session Infomation

Biophotonics, the application of photonics technology to biological imaging and sensing, is currently experiencing rapid development in modern technology. Advances in nanotechnology have allowed new modality of optical imaging and sensing with readily accessible approaches. New imaging methodologies with advanced optical system design and computational method enable more powerful imaging technologies such as fluorescence microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, Raman imaging and computational imaging. Advances in nanoprobe including near-infrared probes, quantum dots and plasmonic nanoparticles enables functional sensing and empowers the existing imaging technology. This session fosters interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together engineers with backgrounds in optics and engineering science alongside chemists, biologists, and clinicians in a unified setting.
