Session Infomation

The advancement of plasmon-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (PERS) has enabled fingerprint detection on target materials with sensitivities down to the single-molecule level and with sufficient spatial resolution to observe individual vibrational modes. Recently, chemical reactions driven by localizing photon, electronic and/or thermal energies induced by surface plasmons is attracting increasing interests due to its large impact on the practice of chemistry. This session focuses on the fundamental physics, theoretical formalism, numerical modeling, and applied research of PERS and its chemistry. Example topics include surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, plasmon-mediated chemical reactions, etc.
