Session Infomation

Controlling light-matter interactions at will, including manipulating the light-particle-matter interaction, is a long-sought-after goal in modern physics and applications. Recent advances in exotic materials (including 2D materials, photonic twisted structures, metamaterials, metasurfaces, epsilon-near-zero materials, gain materials, photonic crystals, PT-symmetric structures, nonlinear materials, random media, and other complex media), electron microscopy, plasmonics, and quantum optics have resulted in intriguing achievements in the manipulation of light and highly-squeezed polaritons even in the extreme nanoscale. This session aims to explore the novel (including classical and quantum) ways to control the light emission from particle-matter interactions in a flexible way by using these exotic materials and beyond.
