The advancement of electromagnetic field/wave manipulation theory and enabling fabrication techniques have made electromagnetic modeling and computation in inhomogeneous media unprecedentedly active in recent years. This session focuses on the novel computational methods or models for efficient simulation of electromagnetic analysis in inhomogeneous media, including planar layered medium, photonic crystal, quasi-crystals, and random composite materials. Example topics include but not limit to computational methods, analytical investigation or models, AI enhanced methods for characterization, etc.
